Parents

Your child’s future is

full of possibility

We are here to help your family understand the options. For many families, planning for life after high school can feel confusing. College applications, scholarships, career options, financial questions, and changing requirements can be difficult to navigate, especially when information is not always easy to understand.

Latinos Count walks alongside Latino students and families with trusted bilingual guidance, clear information, and a deep belief in each student’s potential. Our team is uniquely suited to help your student explore scholarships, college options, career pathways, mentorship, and next steps. We come from similar backgrounds, offer support in English and Spanish, and understand you and your student’s story.

Parents Need to Know:

Latinos Count respects the role of parents and family.

The organization helps explain complex information in clear, culturally aware ways in English and Spanish.

There are many good pathways after high school, including college, skilled trades, workforce, entrepreneurship, and military service. Scholarships, mentoring, and trusted guidance can help students move forward. We are here to help your student find a pathway that is right for them and will give them a future that excites them. In other words, your student doesn’t have to choose between passion or success. It can be both.

Latinos Count works to build trust, not pressure families into a one-size-fits-all decision. Latinos Count values the importance of bridging language barriers through bilingual communication and helping first-generation Latino parents understand complex information about higher education and future options.

Policymakers Need to Know:

Latinos Count advances student success and regional opportunity. We help address information gaps, access barriers, and pathway confusion. Student success is connected to workforce participation, talent retention, and economic mobility.

Community-based organizations can build trust in ways institutions sometimes can’t. Policy and funding decisions should support navigation, mentoring, family engagement, bilingual communication, and multiple postsecondary pathways. The goal is not political positioning; the goal is helping more young people become prepared, confident, and able to contribute.

Investing in our students

BENEFITS EVERYONE

“Latinos Count is my passion. For me, it is a labor of love. I don’t think there’s an organization in our market that is solely focused on Latino youth, one that prepares them for life after high school. This is important because oftentimes language becomes a barrier in Latino families living in the U.S. Latinos Count helps bridge the gap between the language barrier and complex information about higher education that is not always easily understood by first generation Latino parents due to the language challenges, and for young adults because it is confusing.”
