Challenger faces longtime incumbent in Fort Wayne school board race
The Fort Wayne Community School board’s longest-serving member faces the only challenger in the district’s November election.
Steve Corona, a board member since 1981, and 35-year-old Jorge Fernandez are vying for the District 5 seat, which generally covers the district’s south side.
FWCS board incumbents Jennifer Matthias of District 2 and Noah Smith of District 3 are both seeking another term without opposition. Their districts cover the city’s northeast side. The nonpartisan positions carry four-year terms.
