Latinos Count, established in 2013, prepares today’s Latino youth for tomorrow’s global opportunities. This vision is accomplished through two focused goals:
Latinos Count is my passion. For me, it is a labor of love. I don’t think there’s an organization in our market that is solely focused on Latino youth, one that prepares them for life after high school. This is important because oftentimes language becomes a barrier in Latino families living in the U.S. Latinos Count helps bridge the gap between the language barrier and complex information about higher education that is not always easily understood by first generation Latino parents due to the language challenges, and for young adults because it is confusing.
I consider it a privilege to serve as both an advocate and a navigator for our Latino youth. Working with their parents to build trust is very important because we need families to trust us to really be able to help them. When we examine the options presented to students about their future, we take a deeper look at the quality of those opportunities and help them navigate what makes the most sense for their situation. We examine the options and make sure they are heading in a good direction.
You can make a long-lasting impact on Latino kids who need mentoring. Regardless of your background, you can make a difference.

We need mentors for our Latino students. We also need volunteers to assist with various tasks including events and more.
